Accessibility
One
of the most important areas of compliance is make sure you website is
accessible to people with disabilities. Generally it is making sure you site is
clear and concise when viewed by people with visual impairments.
Part of making a site accessibility compliant is making sure that the code
behind the that's going on in the background is formatted correctly. This
ensures that accessibility software like screen readers can make sense of your
site. Church:/Advance only generates this valid code.
It's very important that your site does comply to these standards because if
you're not you could be breaking the law.
The UK's Disability Discrimination
Act 1995, Section III point 19 states
"It is unlawful for a
provider of services to discriminate against a disabled person..."
Your website is a service and therefore falls under this act. If your website
is not accessible and your site makes not effort to be accessible to its
disabled users, you could be sued.
